How To Choose Your Child's Name
Picking a name that won’t traumatize your child for life.
When it comes to choosing a name for your child, everyone has their own ideas and style. Some will want to carry on a family name, honor a culture, or show the world just how clever they are.
Hardly anyone thinks about what the child will have to deal with their entire life.
There are ways to go about naming your child while still being creative and honoring, that won’t put a target of ridicule on your child that will have to be carried with them wherever they go.
Let’s look at some types of names and then I will put it together and offer my advice on how to honor what you want to honor without singling out your child to be mocked and picked on because of your naming.
Family Names
It is a tradition in many families to pass down a particular name or even names from one generation to the next, honoring those who have come before.
Sometimes This works and sometimes it doesn’t. There are several outdated names that continue to be passed down that are truly embarrassing to a child, and will bring them ridicule and mocking.
