God at Work Through People

I and my family have been blessed to live on part of the 1800’s homestead my ancestors founded. We were able to purchase a piece of it along with the 120+ year old home my great great grandfather built.

But life here is not all beer and skittles. We maxed ourselves out on the purchase, and it has been a struggle to keep up with payments and repairs. Many of which have gone undone.

In a complete surprise our pastor informed me that our church would like to help us out by putting siding on our home. We had painted the house soon after we moved in but the old wooden siding didn’t hold the paint and it started peeling soon after.

Friends at church knew we had been putting money into the house when we could. New roof, new windows and doors, plumbing and electrical upgrades. The list was long and expensive. Somehow word got around about the shape of the house and without our knowledge the church decided to help us out.

We had been putting a little away for home improvements as we could but we were far from being able to afford having siding put on.

In the last couple years I have developed an autoimmune that makes it so I can’t do much physical work, and I definitely can’t climb a ladder.
