Having a badly sprained ankle can be a real pain in the …well, ankle. Ankles are an important part of your mobility. An injury to your ankle slows you down and makes daily life much less enjoyable.

What to do when you get a sprain

A severe sprain can be hard to differentiate from a break, even for professionals. If after 48 hours you still cannot support any weight on your ankle please see a physician for x-rays and treatment.

Sometimes even x-rays can miss a break, but listen to your doctor if the pain is severe.

If the injury is severe enough surgery may be required, so always seek medical attention if the pain keeps you from putting weight on your foot for two days.

Home Treatment

So you hurt your ankle but after two days you can put a little weight on it so you decide the home treatment option is best for you.

There are several keys to recovering quickly from that bad sprain and getting you back into the game of life.
