The Terms of Service Tell the Tale
With the update to the terms of service many writers are airing complaints about this or that on social media.
Like others this got my attention so I went back and gave the new terms of service a good read instead of the skimming I usually do to see what all the fuss was about.
After reading the new terms of service I decided to refresh my memory of the Medium rules and curation guidelines. This is where I had an epiphany.
Medium shadow bans anyone it wants through the curation process.
Medium has the Right to Control its Content
Before anyone thinks I am devolving into a rant on free speech, I fully acknowledge Medium has the right to control what is published and distributed on the platform.
If your fundamental ideology lies along the path of the decidedly left leaning Medium, you may be golden. On the other hand if you lean to the right, you are fighting an uphill battle on the platform.
All it takes is look at the rules and then see which side gets away with breaking them consistently.
