To Mask or Not To Mask That is the Question for Many Christians

The not so final word on the subject.

The county I live in has mandated masks for the first time, and there is a large blow-back from some in the church.

I have friends and family working the front lines of this pandemic, who are actually seeing people get sick and die on a daily basis. They are seeing the full hospitals and ICU’s. These people are saying you are an idiot if you don’t wear a mask to help contain this outbreak.

I have other friends and family who have watched a youtube video or two, stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and read popular meme’s on social media. These people are saying you are an idiot if you give up your freedom to an overreaching bureaucracy.

You notice everyone is an idiot.

So what should a follower of Christ do?

First of all I will preface with saying the choice will be yours no matter which side (or somewhere in the middle) you fall. There is no verse in the bible that says “Thou shalt wear a mask”. God gives us each freedom to make choices right or wrong, and the deal with the consequences of those choices.

However God does give us clear guidelines for us to apply to living our daily lives. It is in these guidelines that I think…
