Why People Refuse to Accept Apologies From Men
When men screw up do we care if they are sorry?
The current news cycle is full of “misogynistic” men being berated for saying offensive things to and about women.
The mood in our country at this time is one of easy offense, swift judgement and cancel culture, for anyone stupid enough to mouth offensive words to anyone other than a white male.
Even when there is an attempt to apologize for the offense, it is deemed, insincere and insufficient. The only outcome that seems acceptable is a swift death by public execution. Someone please hand me my wakizashi.
So why is our current culture so set on refusing to accept apologies from men?
How can we work on being more understanding of outbursts of offensive stupidity?
When you are offended do you ever consider if harm was actually done to you, or was it aimed elsewhere?
